We provide affordable construction volunteer abroad programs that allow you to build or improve key infrastructure, and thereby, better the communities' access to healthcare, education and children's development, meaning that you will work in building a home (You might be building an entire house from scratch, beginning to end !), a school, a library or a clinic. You don't need any special construction skills, although being able to pound nails is a plus. You'll be working side by side with volunteer team members and the partner family; partners contribute hundreds of hours of "sweat equity" toward their new home. Building and Renovation Program:

In a country governed by corruption, economic resources that are supposed to help people in need, living in extreme poverty, and without access to the basic necessities, never arrive where it’s needed. Therefore, poor communities do not have access to a decent place they can call home, a hospital they can go to, or a school that will help them get better prepared to encounter the future. By joining our Building & Renovation program, you’ll be helping people that lack resources to build a house, a school, or a hospital to improve their quality of life.

Due to gender and age, women are vulnerable, lack opportunities, and lack psychological and social support. Our Psychology project will recalibrate women’s mental health through individual and group sessions. Our psychologists personalize each therapy for each beneficiary; this establishes a rapport that empowers the mother, providing her with a safe and trustworthy place. The group therapies will carry out violence issues to feel identified, secure, and supported in different modalities. Our workshops focus on: ● increasing self-esteem ● self-motivation ● security and confidence ● teamwork ● social relationships The workshops will be with an interactive and participatory modality that will impact individually, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and strengthen the partnership. Specifically, the psychology program seeks to strengthen thoughts and behaviors by working with emotional conflicts and other traumas that arise after becoming victims of violence. Our goal through this program is to evolve the way the men see the women and change the way the women have seen themselves for many years. The program's vision and purpose are to empower women by providing education, counseling, mentoring, relaxation and meditation exercises, self-esteem activities, and classes on sexual awareness. According to the Human Rights report, the crime of psychological violence against women has the highest incidence, followed by physical violence.

Women Empowerment Description:

Violence against women and children in Guatemala has become perpetuated as a tool of subordination and control of women’s and children’s lives. The patriarchal and conservative culture and a fragile judicial security system generate impunity in these cases. This problem also affects their education and trajectories of future work, profoundly altering their lives and their families. Violence against women and children is one of the most complex social issues of our time. Along with violence, this scenario comes accompanied by poverty, malnourishment, deplorable living conditions, and exposure to drugs, impacting negatively every aspect of life from childhood through adulthood. Over 60 percent of families in Guatemala live in poverty; without your help, poor mothers and children victims of violence will suffer violence in adulthood. By working together, we will change lives, build long-term programs that will help single mothers and their children become psychologically and emotionally stable. They will get an education and build confidence to create a better future for themselves and their families.
