Psychology Program

I am hope

Psychological damage impacts the lives of women in Guatemala every day.

According to the Human Rights report, the crime of psychological violence against women has the highest incidence, followed by physical violence.

Due to gender and age, women are vulnerable, lack opportunities, and lack psychological and social support. Our Psychology project will recalibrate women’s mental health through individual and group sessions.

Our psychologists personalize each therapy for each beneficiary; this establishes a rapport that empowers the mother, providing her with a safe and trustworthy place.

The group therapies will carry out violence issues to feel identified, secure, and supported in different modalities.

Our workshops focus on:
  • increasing self-esteem
  • self-motivation
  • security and confidence
  • teamwork
  • social relationships

The workshops will be with an interactive and participatory modality that will impact individually, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and strengthen the partnership.

Specifically, the psychology program seeks to strengthen thoughts and behaviors by working with emotional conflicts and other traumas that arise after becoming victims of violence.
